Today is the day: IBM AS/400 is celebrating its 25th birthday. We wish the AS/400 a happy birthday. On June 21st 1988 the IBM manager Bernhard Dorn announced the long awaited AS/400. In those times, the AS/400 was created by a fusion of the server product lines system/38 and system/36.
Thinking in today’s life cycles of technological products, one could consider AS/400 to be outdated, but the complete opposite is the case: many companies still trust in the power and reliability of AS/400 – as do we at HOB. This is why HOB offers with HOBLink Terminal Edition and HOBLink J-Term two solutions for secure and flexible remote access to iSeries systems, including AS/400.
