Regus analyzed in the new study “A better balance” the balance between professional and personal life, based on their own Work-Life Balance Index. For this survey Regus interviewed around 16.000 professionals in 80 countries worldwide.

The results are astonishing:

  • The study showed that the Work-Life Balance Index improved about 24% from 2010 to 2012. This means: greater satisfaction of the employees with the balance between working and leisure time.

  • Around 61% of the sample worldwide assumed an improvement of their own Work-Life Balance.

  • Amazingly: 74% believe that they achieved more at work in 2012 compared to 2010, and linked it to the better Work-Life Balance.

  • More than the half of the sample cited that they enjoy their work more than in 2010 and believe that they are happier, due to the fact that they can spend more time with their families.

  • And, 41% of the professionals thought that their companies care more about the balance between working and personal life of their employees. A popular strategy is the adaption of flexible working times and working locations. This is not only cost-effective, but also supports the improvement of the performance.

  • On the other side it is clearly seen, that the Germans are less satisfied with their Work-Life Balance. The Index in Germany is below the global average.

HOB thinks that a good Work-Life Balance is great and suggests a flexible work structure with secure remote access solutions. According to the motto: secure access to centrally stored data and applications – every time, everywhere, from any device!
